This place closed down for a little bit or an unfortunate incident but the place looks amazing now you can tell they have up their game and straightened everything out love the food here love the atmosphere of the staff is very friendly they always give us exactly what we order we like to customize our orders a little bit and they always seem to get it right amazing Place recommend everyone to eat here...

The food (Chicken fajitas) was great and the portions were huge. This was our first time at La Tonalteca. The service was lousy though and was the only negative. We WILL go back though because the food was so good. If we get the same server though we'll leave.

I was walking by this restaurant where the sign caught my eyes about tacos Monday. I was like great it’s Mexican and also I never had a taco! I went inside the restaurant and told the guy I would like to try the tacos also I never had a taco! Hoping that they will make a good first impression however I was seated then got a bowl of chips and sauce which was lovely. My tacos came out and I was like what?? I could have done this myself it was horrible! Not what I expected.

Food is always out very quickly, steaming hot and delicious. By far one of my favorite places to eat. The margaritas are very good also! Love it here!

Food was good but chips and salsa refills are extra??? ...first time seeing that at a Mexican restaurant.

Semi authinic "Southern Mexican" or "Tex-Mex". The staff is always pleasant and the re-fried beans are like home for this Oklahoma/ Texas girl!

It was bad. We went to the lunch buffet. The food was dryed out and they didn't bring out fresh food.I will not go back.

Wow, delicious food! And large portions. Stopped for Iunch while Christmas shopping and had a great meal. The atmosphere is really unique, inside and out. The waiter was very attentive, and the food was served fast. Everything was warm and fresh, and of course warm tortilla chips & salsa. We will definitely be back.

I always get the chicken salad, comes out freshly made each time I love it. I always get a side of guacamole too it is so yummy. My mom loves the tortilla soup and is usually her go to dish.

Great atmosphere, both authentic in look and taste. The staff was great, VERY FAST service that came with care and a smile. I'm not from here but La Tonalteca is now one of my favorite resteraunts ever! Thank you so much for the fast friendly quality food and service!

Authentic and comforting atmosphere, wonderful service, very nicely price to portion ratio. Took my Mexican husband here a few days ago and he was absolutely thrilled. Will definitely be going back!

Buffet was nasty food was really bad it was dry nothing was hot. First time there never again!!! Couldn't even finish the food two bites and rolled. Wasn't worth paying for but paid anyway. JUST NASTY don't waste your time😔😔

Great food! We had the lunch special and it was fantastic. Just the right amount of food for two large people. My only complaint for a large restaurant with few people is they sat us back to back with another couple. My husband ended up seating against a man and was rocking so much my husband ended up moving away from him. Five stars for the food. Waitress was great too.

I have had many excellent meals here. Three of us dined recently. Two of us had a great meal. The third person had "fish tacos" and reported they were the worst fish tacos she ever had. As she often orders fish tacos I give great credence to her statement. Another bad experience and we are finished with Tonaltecca.

I wasn't impressed. The meat in my taco salad was very bland. The best part was my blue golden margarita.

I have been several times to this restaurant and enjoy the food and the service.2017-1-22 My new favorite item on the menu is Aztec Burrito. If you like squash and zucchini. you will love this!

Went in tonight and Margaritas were delicious as always. However, got the Texas fajitas that we usually get and share and can't finish it all. Tonight there was hardly enough to share. They have really reduced their portions.

Not authentic at ALL. Food was flavorless and reheated not fresh. It look so nice from the outside but really bad experience with the food. I do not recommend it if you are looking for authentic Mexican food.

The food was alright my friend and I went late on a sunday the food seemed a bit old... his beans were stale and the pico de galo had no tomatoes in it. The staff was friendly though and the interior is nicely decorated hopefully this was just a bad day and it’s normally not like this

My wife and I walked in a half an hour before their buffet ended. When we told the man at the reception what we wanted he gave us a quizzical look and said he would have to talk to the manager. Mind you there are less than 10 other customers in the restaurant at this time. We waited 5 minutes for her to come out and say she didn't want to make any more buffet food so they wouldn't give it to us. So then we tell them we want to do normal dine in. They say ok and then we wait a few more minutes as they show each other some stuff on their phones before the man sighs, grabs 2 menus, walks us over to a booth in the corner and quickly drops the menus on the end of the table, spins on his heel and walks away without a word. We waited close to 10 minutes at the booth without anyone bringing us water or asking for our order before we got up and walked out.

Freaking LOVE this place. They have the best food, margaritas and seafood soup! LOVE the staff too, always friendly :)

We were driving back from Ocean City Maryland and needed lunch. We stopped here because we were craving Mexican food. Since it was Sunday they were offering a buffet. There were several great options offered. They had both beef and chicken fajitas, hard and soft tacos, rice and beans as well as several desert options. They also had two soup options and roasted veggies.

They got a new menu and I love there staff food was a little salty but my rice was epic

Second best Mexican food I've had in Dover, although that isn't saying a lot. The restaurant has a very comfortable and authentic vibe. The food is delicious and very reasonably priced, and the service is friendly and quick. Plenty of vegetarian options for those that need or desire them as well. I changed my review to a 4 from a 5 after trying more items on the menu. Some are fresher than others. The garlic mojo shrimp is covered in that gross pre-chopped garlic that comes in a jar.

I had canitas and it was delicious. The margarita was so good I had to get another one 😂. Hubby is driving me home 🤗. Hubby had entree# 234.I had a taste of his chicken and shrimp. It was nicely seasoned and tender

Really cute ambiance. Friendly staff, but it would be better if they could understand me. Waitress couldn't answer simple questions I had pertaining to the menu.Large menu, many things to pick from. Restaurant always smells like cleaning products.

Chips taste strange, enchiladas were mushy, churos were soggy. Not the worst tex-mex ever but very meh... Wouldn't recommend.

Third or fourth time we have taken friends here. Party of eight , two friends from Venezuela. They enjoyed conversation with our servers who were friendly and offered knowledgable comments on the menue.The food was excellent, and the prices were modest. We will be back soon!

Food and service were very good. Standard Mexican fare. Huge menu (but it is all a variable of each other - it's Mexican!). Raspberry margaritas were delicious. We go there about once per month.
